Tune-In Alert: SportsCar Grand Prix

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship travels north of the border for the only time in 2016 to visit historic Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for Round 7, the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix.

The event begins the second half of the season, showcasing the Prototype (P), Prototype Challenge (PC), GT Le Mans (GTLM) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes in two hours, 40 minutes of action on the challenging circuit.

The weekend also features the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and IMSA Mazda Prototype Lites Presented by Cooper Tires.

Sunday’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix will be presented live on FS1, beginning at 11 a.m. ET. IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app will stream WeatherTech Championship qualifying along with the Continental Tire Challenge race, and also will carry IMSA Radio plus live timing and scoring throughout the weekend.

Friday, July 8 (All Times ET) Friday includes opening WeatherTech Championship practice, with a pair of one-hour sessions beginning at 10:35 a.m. and 2:55 p.m. The opening Continental Tire Challenge practice will be at 9:30 a.m., with qualifying at 5:10 p.m.

Saturday, July 9 An action-packed day begins with Mazda Prototype Lites qualifying at 8:45 a.m. The WeatherTech Championship holds its final one-hour practice at 10:10 a.m., with 15-minute qualifying sessions for each class beginning at 3:40 p.m. to set the field for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix. The Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge races for two hours and 30 minutes, beginning at 12:25 p.m. Completing the action is the first 30-minute race for the Mazda Prototype Lites, beginning at 5:35 p.m.

Sunday, July 10 The Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix takes the green flag at 11:05 a.m. Live coverage begins at 11 a.m. on FS1. IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app will stream in-car cameras, live timing and scoring, and IMSA Radio’s play-by-play. The day opens with a 20-minute warm-up for the WeatherTech Championship competitors at 8 a.m., followed by a 45-minute race for the Mazda Prototype Lites competitors.
